    Abstract
This qualitative case study explores the implementation of the Care Group Ministry program within the Western Mindanao Conference (WMC) through a comprehensive investigation. Care groups are commonly known as small groups or cell groups. For consistency, this study uses the term care group. A purposive sampling method was used to select participants: care group leaders, members, and pastors. These participants offer diverse perspectives on the implementation of the care group ministry. This study found that WMC care group implementation is characterized by leadership development, program implementation, mission and outreach, and holistic enrichment. These themes are considered positive factors in effective care group implementation in WMC. In addition, the data analysis revealed several barriers: organizational challenges, leadership issues, internal group dynamics, and a lack of missional mindset. These barriers hinder care groups from becoming functional. This study recommends developing care group leaders through training and seminars, formulating strategic plans aligned with the conference’s mission, enhancing financial and organizational support, cultivating a supportive community environment, implementing continuous evaluation, and promoting a mission-focused mindset. By adopting these recommendations, local churches in WMC can overcome existing challenges of care group implementation and ensure its success and sustainability.
