The purpose of the study was to determine the feasibility for establishing a computer center at the Dharma Bhakti Secondary School in Siborongborong, North Sumatera, Indonesia. This was done by analyzing need, location, market, physical facilities, human resources, and the financial aspects. The findings show there is an acute need for a computer center in the Siborongborong area. The population of Siborongborong in 1997 was projected to be between 42,000 and 43,000. The town has five junior high schools, three high schools, one college, and several private and governmental organizations. The need for computer literate workers has taken on increasing importance in Indonesia with the advancement o the economy. Furthermore, no computer center has been established at the present in this geographical area. The Dharma Bhakti School would be a convenient location for a computer center. Three rooms at Dharma Bhakti School are available as classrooms for the proposed computer center. The target market for this study is the residents of the city of Sigorongborong. Student enrollment for the proposed computer center was projected in increase 25% by the first year and 15% a year for the next four years. Based upon the findings of the financial, market, and human resources analysis, the computer center at Siborongborong should be established. The results show that the center is financially feasible.
